Thursday, May 19th, the Kansas State Research and Extension Council put on a tour of the Ellsworth County wheat plot that is on local farmer, David Wesseler’s farm ground. The test plot is located north of Lorraine on the east side of 10th Road.
K-State Professor of Wheat Breeding, Allan K Fritz spoke to local farmers about the individual wheat varieties that were planted on Wesseler’s ground. Fritz, along with other K-State Wheat Specialists spoke about which wheat varieties would perform better in local farm operations around the area.
After the plot tour, the lunch that followed was sponsored by Central Prairie Co-op and was held at the Lorraine location.
